Objectives

To strengthen the company’s competitiveness and internationalisation capacity through six qualification areas:

Organisational innovation and management — modernisation of the internal technological infrastructure;
Digitalisation and digital transformation — new website, application redesign and cybersecurity audit;
Brand creation and design — registration of new proprietary brands at national and international level;
Development of products, services and processes — new AI solutions, including chatbots, and HomeTRAC for Home Hospitalisation;
Quality and certification — achievement of ISO 27001, ISO 13485, MDR (CE marking) and FDA 510(k) compliance;
Sustainability — definition and implementation of an ESG governance model.

Expected results

The completion of this project will enable BIQ-HS to achieve, by 2027:

Turnover of approximately €4.38 million, representing 46% growth compared to 2023;
Export intensity of around 54% of sales, strengthening its presence in the United Kingdom, Italy, France, Greece and the USA;
ISO 27001 and ISO 13485 certification, as well as compliance with the European MDR and FDA 510(k) framework;
Creation of qualified jobs and expansion of the product range with new artificial intelligence solutions.

BIQ Health Solutions is the partner chosen to support HDES in this project, which aims to implement mobility solutions and dashboards to increase efficiency in the provision of health care and safety of users.

Within the scope of this project, the following modules are included:

✓ PharmaTRAC® for the safe administration of medications;
✓ BTRAC® for the safe administration of blood components;
✓ LabTRAC® for the traceability and safety of laboratory collections;
✓ CareTRAC® for consultation of nursing planning and records.
✓ MilkTRAC® for the safe administration of human milk.
✓ MealTRAC® for the safe administration of diets.

These solutions together enable a total dematerialization of the circuits, allowing mobility and ensuring quality and safety, so that health professionals can focus all their attention on what is most important, the health care to be provided to users.

The Lusíadas Amadora Hospital Unit – of Lusíadas Saúde, has recently expanded the use of the MAPP platform, now integrating the BTRAC, CareTRAC and LabTRAC modules.

This evolution is an important step in the digital transformation of clinical and logistics circuits, bringing a direct and essential benefit to patients, by ensuring greater safety through the rigorous traceability of processes and materials, reducing risks and increasing reliability at all stages of care.

BIQHS welcomes this milestone and reinforces its mission to support healthcare organizations in implementing solutions that elevate the quality of care provided.

Fully integrated with the hospital’s ERP system, MedTRAC ensures continuous and accurate monitoring of stock levels across all storage areas — from central warehouses to clinical departments. This real-time visibility enables more precise resource management, reducing waste, preventing stockouts, and optimizing material replenishment.

As a result, logistical processes become up to three times faster and more efficient, directly contributing to greater operational sustainability and improved service delivery to patients.

BIQ HS is the partner chosen to support ULSASi in this project, which aims to implement mobility solutions and dashboards to increase efficiency in the provision of healthcare and user safety, in the transfusion and collection circuits for analysis.

The BTRAC® system was designed to guarantee traceability, safety, positive confirmation and monitoring of the administration of blood components, ensuring compliance with applicable legal requirements, guidelines and good practices.

Through the LabTRAC® solution, it is possible to accurately identify samples for laboratory analysis in real time, ensuring that the sample belongs to the correct user and reducing the risk of human error, with full traceability of the process.

These solutions together enable the complete dematerialization of circuits, allowing mobility and ensuring quality and safety, so that healthcare professionals can focus all their attention on what is most important: the healthcare provided to users.

The purpose of SteriTRAC® is to integrate the entire sterilization cycle through automated digital methods of data collection, promoting dematerialization and reducing paper usage. This contributes to the hospital reinforcing its efficiency and environmental goals.

The Unidade Local de Saúde do Algarve (ULSALG) currently integrates the three public hospitals (Hospital de Faro, E.P.E., Portimão, and Lagos), the three Algarve Health Center Groups (ACES) and their respective functional units in primary health care, the four Basic Emergency Services, and the Southern Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Center.

BIQ Health Solutions remains dedicated to the digital transformation of hospital processes, increasing efficiency in healthcare delivery and patient safety.

The interface with MVO Portugal – Associação Portuguesa de Verificação de Medicamentos (Portuguese Medicines Verification Association) ensures integration into the medicines verification system and compliance with the European standard.

The installation of this module will make the decommissioning process more agile by using BIQ handheld mobile devices to scan and decode the barcodes provided by the various suppliers.

With the aim of implementing a mobility solution that allows increasing the efficiency and safety of the entire medication administration process, HCV chose BIQ HS to achieve this goal.

By reading the barcodes on the patients’ wristbands and the medication to be administered, a closed loop is ensured with total traceability and safety of the process.

With the aim of optimizing the entire logistics circuit for hospital products, HCV will soon also implement the EKanban® model. This solution will allow the entire movement of items to be managed automatically, from the moment they enter the Hospital until they are administered, guaranteeing a permanent inventory.

In December 2023 we closed the year with the implementation of PharmaTRAC® at Unidade Local de Saúde de Matosinhos (ULSM).

The installation of BIQ HS’s MAPP® solution, which includes the medication, blood and breast milk collection circuits, considerably reduces clinical error and guarantees greater user safety throughout the different stages of the processes.
