Mass Decommissioning System
Advanced Medication Verification System to Prevent Counterfeit Drugs in Hospital Pharmacies
The medication verification system is designed to prevent the entry of counterfeit drugs into the supply chain.
Verification is performed by comparing the registered unique identifier data against the unique identifier encoded on the product packaging. Hospital pharmacies are required to scan the unique identifier on each package to validate it against the national repository.
Recognizing the complexity and demanding nature of this task, BIQ HS presents a specialized workstation designed for mass code scanning of medication packaging, eliminating the need for manual, individual scanning by users.
System Components: – High-performance optical reader for mass scanning across an area of up to 600 x 400 mm
- Workstation control software system
- Dedicated scan trigger button
- Electrical enclosure featuring a 24VDC power supply and an 8-port switch with workbench mounting support
- Handheld barcode reader
- Ergonomic workbench
-
– Capacity to scan up to 150 codes simultaneously (per image/box layer)
– Processing speed of up to 60 boxes per minute (depending on layer composition)
– Operating humidity: 95% non-condensing
– Operating temperature: 0 to 50 ºC
– Storage/Transport temperature: -20 to 70 ºC
Operating Workflow:
-
Scan the barcode on the production box to be processed.
-
Open the box lid.
-
Place the box on the designated area of the workbench.
-
Press the trigger button.
-
Verify on screen that all individual units are highlighted. If any unit is unread, inspect the box to identify the cause and apply corrective measures (e.g., cellophane fold, tape obstructing the DataMatrix code, etc.). In case of glare, slightly tilt the unit to ensure the missing code is captured.
-
Confirm on screen that the scanned quantities match expected counts.
-
Validate and integrate the scanned units, taking appropriate action based on any system alerts or warning messages received.
